David Fogarty
"I’m a First Officer with QantasLink flying the Dash 8 mainly 50 seater 300
model, started Feb 2008, based now in Mildura. Mildura is a base
operated by 5 Captains and 5 Fo’s, I’m share housing with three other FO’s
which is cosy until a Melbourne spot comes up for me so I can commute to
work from Bendigo. Flying the Dash is great, lots of opportunity to hand
fly, and plenty of sectors to ‘try landing properly next time’. In truth the
Dash is difficult to land consistently well, especially full flap in a cross
wind. I’ve done some squeekers, and I’ve certainly done some ‘carrier’
landings. The attached shot is in cruise off to Canberra with the winter
snow on the high country." |
